The property is ideally situated to reach the Pyrenees within an hour and Biarritz on the coast within 2 hours. Its gently undulating terrain makes it perfect for biking and walking and there is also the opportunity to horseride. A leisure lake with boating, fishing and swimming can be found in Mielan, 5km away. There are plenty of good golf courses in and around the area, most with panoramic views.
The historic town of Auch, 30 mins drive, is famous for D'Artagnan and its beautiful buildings. Situated along the river, it is definitely worth a visit. Marciac, famous for the international Jazz Festival held in August is a mere 30 minutes away. Closer to home, Mirande hosts a Country and Western Festival held every July.
In keeping with french tradition, a market is held each day in a different village and they are fantastic for buying local produce and soaking up the atmosphere. The summer is also a perfect time to indulge in the local 'Fetes' taken very seriously by every village.
Lourdes, famous for its Pilgrims and thermal baths is only an hours drive in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Cauteret and St Lary Soulon, beautiful mountain villages, are some of the starting points for walking through the Pyrenees in Summer and skiing in Winter.
